The Cockpit
The cockpit is the most important thing to understand when flying. The displays inside the cockpit will help you fly safely.
Primary Flight Display (PFD)
• The primary flight display is the most important part of the cockpit.
• It shows your plane's pitch (forward) and bank (side) angle relative to the ground.
• It also displays your altitude (height) from sea level which is very important for landing.
Ground Control (GROUND CTRL)
• The ground control button is activated by the G key on your keyboard.
• You MUST make sure this is on when you are taking off or landing.
• You should keep it on whenever your altitude is below 100 ft.
• It automatically switches off when you are above 100 ft.
• It turns off ground proximity warnings and makes the plane go slower on the ground.
Speed Break
• The speed break is activated by the V key on your keyboard.
• The speed break will stop the plane when it is on the ground.
• It does not do anything in the air.
Head Lights
• The headlights are activated by the L key on your keyboard.
• It shines a bright light from the nose of the plane.
• It should always be turned on at night.
Navigation Lights
• The navigation lights are activated by the N key on your keyboard.
• It turns on a red and a green light on the wing tips.
• It should always be on at night.
